Function-One
Funktion-One is a British audio technology manufacturer. Function-One was founded in 1992 by Tony Andrews and John Newsham. Rolling Stone magazine ranks Tony Andrews among the 50 most important people in electronic dance music . His company aims to optimize not only the loudspeakers produced, but the entire audio chain. The function-one loudspeakers are optimized through the housing and are one of the few professional loudspeakers that do not have a frequency curve equalization (EQ). In a study of electronic dance music in an academic setting, a Funktion-One sound system was used. During the scientific analysis of a program for music recognition for cell phones and smartphones - Shazam (service) - systems from Funktion-One were experimented with. The same applies to an investigation of electronic dance music in which ethnographic material from Hong Kong was used.
