Steps lead down to the well chamber vaulted by a tholos . At the end of the stairs you reach the level floor of a circular tholos about four meters in diameter. From here, off-center, a round brick well shaft leads another five meters down, where water can still be drawn today. After rains, the level of the fountain rises and the steps are covered with greenish water.
