A veneer press is a large piece of woodworking equipment. With it, lower-quality wood is glued and refined with noble, thin wood sheets ( veneer ). An even application is achieved through pressure and temperature.

function

Single and multi-daylight press

In the case of the heating plate press (single-daylight press) equipped with two aluminum heating plates, the pressure is generated by a hydraulic cylinder . The alternative with several plates is called a multi-opening press. The heating plates are heated with hot water, steam or electricity . The temperature and the pressing pressure can be adjusted. Loading and unloading is done by hand.

Short-cycle press

Another form is the short-cycle press. This type can also be used in throughfeed presses with fast heating-up times, with short opening and closing times. With the throughfeed press, all workpieces must be aligned on the associated conveyor belt. After the pressing process, they are transported to the discharge side via the press belt and moved onto the discharge roller conveyor. At the same time, further workpieces are fed in from the loading side. In connection with fast-setting adhesives , high temperature during pressing, the step-by-step process in a production line is ideal. A schedule is necessary for this. This applies in particular to the loading time, closing time, pressing time, opening time and emptying time.
