Future Games was a development studio and publisher of computer games based in Beroun, Czech Republic .

history

The company was founded in 1996 by Martin Malik because he couldn't find a distribution for a game he had written. The studio initially produced and published two adventure games in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In order to be able to better market the games internationally, the company form was changed to "sro" in 1999, comparable to the German GmbH . From this point on, sales partnerships were entered into. Future Games specialized exclusively in adventure games and achieved sales of up to 750,000 pieces per game. The studio temporarily employed over 20 people. The game engine was an in-house development called AGDS ( Advanced Graphic Development System ), which was optimized from game to game. From 2005 the business field was expanded - in addition to the development of computer games, titles from other producers were also distributed exclusively in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, such as a role-playing game for the Night Watch novel series. In 2009, a project already in the middle of the production process, the Adventure Ron Loo , had to be discontinued after differences with the authors of the template. Alter Ego , the final game from Future Games, was not a financial success. Overall, the company got into financial difficulties and had to close in 2011.

Company founder Malik worked full-time as Head of Marketing for Warner Bros Czech Republic between 2006 and 2009 . He has been active in football marketing since 2011 and has been managing director of a Slovak company that is responsible for marketing for the Czech football association since 2016 .
