Future Weapons is a series that has been running on the US Discovery Channel since 2006 and introduces modern and future weapons and weapon systems. The show was hosted by Richard Machowicz , a former Navy Seal. Since March 2009 the show has been running weekly in Germany on DMAX .

Episode structure

Each episode has a specific topic, for example "Maximum Firepower", on which (usually four) different weapons (systems) are shown that are suitable for the task described in the title (for example an MLRS or the Metal Storm system) . These are presented by Machowicz and mostly tested by him on a test site of the respective company, or he visits a military unit equipped with the weapon system. For example, Machowicz visited the German submarine base in Eckernförde in episode 2 "Stealth Technology" to present the fuel cell drive of the submarine class 212 A on board the U 31 .

Future of the series

No new episodes have aired in the United States since April 24, 2008. It is not known whether the series is just taking a break or has been discontinued.
