The Fux plays of light , natural notation: fux light games are a cinema in the Bodenstedtstraße 16 in Hamburg district of Altona North . The film theater operated by the KurzFilmAgentur Hamburg eV cooperatively is the smallest art house cinema in Hamburg with 20 seats.

The program focuses on works produced by the cooperative members themselves and by Hamburg filmmakers . In addition, auteur films , documentaries and short film evenings are shown on a weekly basis . In addition, the fux Lichtspiele are used as a venue for film festivals such as the Hamburg Short Film Festival , documentary film weeks or screenings as part of the altonale . The projection room offers 20 seats and a digital video projector with a surround sound system.

history

The fux Lichtspiele were planned by several filmmakers as a film club as well as a viewing and model cinema for works they produced themselves. The cinema is located in the former Victoria barracks in Bodenstedtstrasse, at the corner of Zeiseweg in Hamburg Altona-Nord, which was acquired by a cooperative of around 200 artists and rededicated as an art center. On April 1, 2019, the fux Lichtspiele opened with a short film program. The cinema is not directly barrier-free , but visitors with physical disabilities are also given short-term assistance.
