Gâteau du Vully

The Gâteau du Vully (also called Vully cake or Wistenlacher cake ) is a Swiss cake made from yeast dough .

origin

The name is derived from Mont Vully on Lake Murten . This cake is made and sold all over the Lake Murten region.

Manufacturing

A basic distinction is made between the sweet and salty versions. The sweet version is usually with cream Gruyere napped and the salty bacon and caraway refined. The so-called Vully cake is always sold at village and wine festivals .

The sweet variant is prepared with flour, milk, yeast, eggs, butter and a pinch of salt. For the topping you use cream (double cream if possible), egg yolks and sugar sugar .
