Gänsefuß is the name of the association journal of the BDKJ Thuringia ( Bund der Deutschen Katholischen Jugend ), which existed from 1991 to 2004 and appeared in 43 issues. The magazine was sent to the Catholic rectories and parishioners from all over Thuringia in a maximum print run of 1,300 copies.
Lettering of the "goose foot" on the title page of the magazine
The main idea of the magazine was to offer young community members of the Diocese of Erfurt their own platform for current discussions on political, social and religious issues. In addition, event information from the individual Thuringian dioceses was presented. The 'traces and original sounds' of the young people - according to the original idea - should be documented in citation format, with quotation marks ("goose feet"), from which the name of the magazine is derived.
The goosefoot found the main response at the annual youth pilgrimage on the Domberg in Erfurt, where Catholics from all over Germany were present. In recent years, the special youth pilgrimage issue of the magazine has developed into an artistically pronounced platform in which poems, graphics, drama excerpts or art photographs by young Thuringians were published.
