Gökhan Arslan (born February 5, 1976 in Erzincan ) is a Turkish kickboxer .

Childhood and youth

Gökhan Arslan was born the second of four children of the Arslan family. He spent his childhood in Erzincan and went to school there. After successfully completing the “Baris” elementary school, he attended the industrial vocational school (secondary school). Then he went to a secondary technical high school and began training as a car mechanic . However, he could not finish this training because on March 18, 1992 a major earthquake struck Erzincan and he decided to leave his home. On May 5, 1992, he came to Germany and completed further training as a logistics specialist .

Athletic career

In September 2000, Arslan began kickboxing training. After only one year of training, he took first place in a WKA World Cup in semicontact. After several successful title defenses, he is still world champion in full contact with the WPKC and since June 2010 also the World Kickboxing Association (WKA).

On October 7th, 2006 Arslan won against Bela Szanthos with a knockout in the 3rd round at the World Championship Fight Fullcontact (-76kg 9x2) in Nürtlingen. Between 2006 and 2007 he completed several prestige fights. He delivered a tough fight in 2007 against the strong Rafael Pratnicki. After five tough rounds, Arslan won the fight on points. In 2008 he fought against Oliver Hahn at the Champions Club in the Bamberg Arena . This was a prestige struggle and Arslan's first defeat.

In 2009 he fought against Levon Akopian. He was miserably injured and broke his right leg. The fight was stopped after the 1st round.

After a 1-year hiatus, he climbed the ring again in June 2010. He won against Frederic Meiß in the 9th round and won the WKA World Championship title. In 2011 he defended this title against Dominik Hasselbek. In 2012 he won the world title against Jozsef Siklodi at the WKA in Nürtlingen and knocked him out in the first round. The fight was scheduled for 12 rounds. He recorded his 25th knockout victory in a total of 41 fights. In 2013, Arslan won the fight against Marko Luckartz in the 4th round by knockout and won the ISKA- Intercontinental title.

In the meantime he passes on his knowledge in the field of martial arts. He teaches in the studios of the Tiger Sports Academy in Esslingen and Nürtingen. He also gives national and international seminars and promotes integration. He has been supporting young people for years.
