Gülşat Mämmedowa

Gülşat Mämmedowa (* 1964 in Ashgabat ) is a Turkmen politician.

Until 2009 she was Deputy Minister for Education and was responsible for schools and kindergartens. In July 2009 she succeeded Muhammetgeldi Annaamanow as Minister of Education of Turkmenistan. Her predecessor was recalled because of a bribery affair. Mämmedowa was reprimanded by President Berdimuhamedow in August 2012 for irregular exams for access to higher education.

In April 2015, Mämmedova was released from her position as Minister of Education due to inadequate employment of graduates from foreign universities. On April 8, 2016, she was appointed Deputy Chairwoman of the Cabinet of Ministers for Culture and Media Turkmenistan. On March 31, 2018, Mämmedova was elected President of the Turkmenistan Assembly. Before that (June 2017 - March 2018) she held the position of deputy.
