The Güldensee is a body of water of around 24 hectares in the municipality of Groß Köris in the Brandenburg district of Dahme-Spreewald .
The lake with no inflow or outflow is located north of the community and is bordered in the east by the Berlin – Görlitz railway line , in the west by Motzener Strasse and in the south by the Kleiner Roßkardtsee . To the north is the Pätzer Hintersee . An approximately 8 km long circular hiking trail leads along the water, which leads from the train station in Groß Köris over the Roßkardt and Güldensee back to the train station.
In the north-west of the lake at the time of National Socialism, from September 1943, the Reichsbahn-Neubauamt Berlin-Lichterfelde built an alternative point for the special staff of the Reich Ministry of Transport . Under the code name Fischerhütte , a utility barracks and 29 office barracks as well as other functional buildings, including four bunkered cisterns at Güldensee, were built. In addition, a residential camp with 11 sleeping and 22 living barracks was built. After the end of the Second World War , the buildings were partially blown up and the wooden barracks demolished.
