Günter Bergt (born August 10, 1943 in Wurzen ) is a German agricultural engineer and former local politician. In 1990 he represented the PDS as a member of the last, for the first time freely elected, People's Chamber.

Life

Bergt attended the ten-class school in Wurzen and then completed an apprenticeship as a skilled worker for pig breeding in what was then LPG Machern , a special company for pig fattening. In 1964 he qualified as a master in this profession. In 1968 Bergt was delegated to the institute of the Central Committee of the SED for the training of functionaries for socialist agriculture in Dresden-Pillnitz . There he completed an engineering degree until 1970, which should prepare him for his future role as head of an LPG. In 1971 he was appointed chairman of the LPG makers; At that time, Bergt was not yet 30 years old. After the separation of the LPG into cooperatives for animal production (T) and plant production (P), the LPG (P) Lenin was founded in Machern in 1976 and the LPG (T) Friedrich Engels in Brandis , which Bergt took over as chairman. Between 1984 and 1986 he also completed a distance learning course in agricultural sciences at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig , which he completed as an agricultural engineer. Bergt transferred the LPG to the new economic situation after the political change in the GDR and from 1991 worked as managing director of Macherner Vermögensverwaltung GmbH & Co. Beteiligungs KG. Bergt is now retired.

Political career

Bergt became a member of the SED in 1962 and remained a member of the successor parties SED-PDS / PDS / Die Linke after 1990. At the first free Volkskammer elections on March 18, 1990, he ran for the PDS in the Leipzig electoral district on list position 3. Since the PDS won 5 seats in this electoral district, Bergt moved as a member of the last GDR parliament. After the dissolution of the People's Chamber, he initially devoted himself more to his professional activity. In 1994 Bergt ran for the first time in the municipal council elections in a hometown of Machern. As one of two elected PDS representatives, he moved into the local council. As a result, Bergt was active as a local council in Machern without interruption until the end of 2017.

Further social commitment

Bergt worked as a referee and club official in local football. He was president of SV Tresenwald for many years and was active as a soccer referee in the Muldental / Leipziger Land soccer association. At times he was also the 3rd Vice President of the Muldental / Leipziger Land soccer association. In 2009 he received the gold badge of honor from the Saxon Football Association for his commitment to football.
