Christoph Leuchter (* 1968 ) is a German writer, musician and university lecturer.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1987, Christoph Leuchter first studied piano and musicology in Cologne , then from 1989 to 1992 at the University of Bonn and from 1992 to 1996 at the RWTH Aachen University in the subjects of German and history . He wrote his master's thesis on Max Frisch on the subject: Playing with the game. Investigations into Max Frisch's biography .

Leuchter taught "Older German Literature" from 1996 to 2004 at the German Institute of RWTH Aachen University. In 2003 he was there with the dissertation Poetry in the improper. Doctorate on the metaphors and poetics of Heinrich von Morungen on Middle High German Minnesang.

After a traineeship from 2000 to 2001 in the editing department of Siedler Verlag , Berlin, Christoph Leuchter worked as a freelance editor and copywriter. In 2002 he founded the New Choir Würselen, with which he performed numerous concerts and produced four CDs. To this day he is its musical director. From 2002 to 2016 he worked as a church musician for the parish St. Hermann-Josef in Stolberg (Rhld.) . In 2012, Christoph Leuchter founded the Center for Creative Writing at RWTH Aachen University, which was institutionalized as the RWTH Writing Center in 2016.

In 2012 and 2013, the two novels Last Act and Amelie's Farewells - a story of lies were published by Steidl Verlag , Göttingen. In 2010 Christoph Leuchter published the music album Where you are with 13 songs / chansons, in 2019 the album Steps with 14 miniatures for clarinet, cello, piano and bass. For his work he has received grants from the Literary Colloquium Berlin , the Ministry of Culture and Science NRW and the Kunststiftung NRW . Christoph Leuchter heads the RWTH Aachen Writing Center. There he mainly teaches creative writing, journalism and PR & communication.
