Günter Beyersdorff

Günter Beyersdorff (born January 22, 1945 in Arnsdorf ) is a German librarian and former university professor. From 1978 to 1997 he was director of the German Library Institute .

Beyersdorff studied economics in Berlin . In 1975 he was appointed professor at the Free University of Berlin (Institute for Librarian Training).

From its founding in 1978 to 1997 he headed the German Library Institute. He was managing director of the German Library Association for more than 25 years and worked on national and international committees. He has been retired since 2000, but continues to work as a reviewer and author as well as a lecturer at the Institute for Library and Information Science .
