Günter Dietz (printer)

Günter Dietz (born November 12, 1919 in Lüneburg ; † September 22, 1995 in Soyen ) was a German art printer and inventor of a screen printing process named after him , with which the so-called Dietz replicas are produced.

Life

After the end of the war in 1945, Günter Dietz studied the “Impression de Pochoir” (“stencil printing” or “screen printing”) system in Paris, which was already used by artists such as Henri Matisse , Georges Braque , Yves Klein and Max Ernst . The "Impression de Pochoir" formed the basis for the invention he first presented in 1964.
