Günter Dworek

Günter Dworek (born September 17, 1960 ) is the spokesman for the Lesbian and Gay Association in Germany (LSVD). He was instrumental in formulating the new LSVD program.

Life

Günter Dworek fought with Volker Beck and Manfred Bruns for the equality of homosexual unions. He was with Volker Beck in the Federal Association for Homosexuality (BVH). He was also particularly committed to a memorial for homosexual Nazi victims.

Dworek was initially a consultant for anti-discrimination policy , now scientific coordinator of working group 3 of the Bundestag parliamentary group Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . Along with Volker Beck, he is considered to be an important pioneer for green lesbian and gay policy.

In May 2006, Dworek awarded for his contribution to the establishment of the Civil Partnership Act international "Tolerantia" prize of the Polish "Foundation for Equality" (Fudacja Równosci, organizer of Parada Równości ), the "Campaign Against Homophobia" (Kampania Przeciw Homofobii), the French Victim support facility "SOS-Homophobie" and the Berlin anti-violence project Maneo . In connection with the resistance against the Pope's visit to Germany in 2011 , Dworek, as spokesman for the LSVD, which initiated the “The Pope Comes!” Campaign, “turned against actions that offend religious feelings”.
