Günter Schöpp

Günter Schöpp (* 1927 or 1928 ; † November 3, 2014 in Wermelskirchen ) was a German entrepreneur and President of the Remscheid Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Live and act

The Wermelskirchen entrepreneur Günter Schöpp took over the family business founded in 1865 in 1936, the textile factory Hermann Schöpp GmbH & Co. KG, and continued to run it until the 1980s after his father's death (1943). From 1964 onwards, Schöpp was a member of the general assembly of the Bergische Industrie- und Handelskammer (IHK) in Remscheid and from 1974 it was its elected president. With the reorganization of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the merger of the Solingen, Remscheid and Wuppertal Chambers of Commerce and Industry in 1977 to form the Wuppertal-Solingen-Remscheid Chamber of Commerce and Industry , Schöpp resigned from office and became Honorary President.

His son Günter Schöpp (* 1945) joined the family business as a trainee in 1959. Günter Schöpp died at the age of 86.
