Günter Würfel

The Mühlhäuser Günter cubes (* 1934 , † 8. August 2010 ) was from 1972 until his death chairman of the Festival Committee of the Mühlhäuser home parties and fair mayor . In 2004 he was given honorary citizenship of his city.

life and work

He became familiar with the traditions of the Mühlhausen fair in the Zöllnersgasse community, whose mayor his father was. Günter Würfel initially belonged to the Lok-Spielmannszug, which was later renamed the Spielmannszug der Stadt Mühlhausen. Successful nationwide participations with the marching band led to the election as chairman of the district committee of the marching band. He was elected mayor of the fair in 1972. In this position, he managed to keep the Mühlhausen fair as a street and neighborhood festival. He also made an important contribution to the development of town twinning.
