Günter Wolff (born April 21, 1943 ) is a former German soccer player from the GDR .

Player career

His career began in 1959 at Motor Weimar . He was discovered in January 1960 during viewing tournaments for the district junior selection and delegated to the Dynamo Dresden sports school . In 1960 he came to what was then SC Dynamo Berlin and was part of the junior league team. In January 1961, the only 18-year-old became a regular in the upper league collective of SC-Dynamo Berlin. As a midfielder and striker, he was one of the strongest league players in the GDR. In 1966 the SC-Dynamo Berlin was renamed the BFC Dynamo . In August 1968 he returned to his home in Thuringia. There he played for FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt . He ended his football career in 1975/76 at BSG Motor Weimar.

According to which sources he played the following selection games is unclear: In his career he is said to have played three times in the B-selection of the GDR, four times in the youth team of the GDR; in 1964 and 1968 he is said to have been part of the Olympic selection of the GDR, unfortunately he did not participate in the Olympics. Furthermore, he is said to have played several times in the Berlin city selection. In 1964 he played in Leipzig's upper division against Flamengo-Rio de Janeiro.

According to the literature listed, the number of his GDR league appearances is 160 games with eight goals plus 59 GDR league games with seven goals. Wolff played a 1-0 win in Plauen in the U23 international match against Poland on June 14, 1964. Center forward Gerd Backhaus scored the winning goal.
