Sansevieria canaliculata is a species of the genus Sansevieria in the asparagus family (Asparagaceae). The specific epithet canaliculata comes from Latin and means 'channeled, grooved' and describes the shape of the leaf.
description
Sansevieria canaliculata growing stemless as a perennial , succulent plant with creeping up to 1.25 cm thick rhizomes . At a distance of up to 5 centimeters there are one to two cylindrically shaped, sometimes slightly curved or slightly compressed leaves per shoot . The simple leaf blade is up to 95 inches long and 0.5 to 2 inches wide. They are dull green with five to six longitudinal furrows and round, rib-like spaces. They run into a 3 millimeter long, whitish, hard spider tip. The leaf surface is smooth.
The single- eared inflorescences are 5 to 16 centimeters long. The inflorescences grow directly out of the rhizome and are quite short compared to the leaf length, but they are loose, usually with three flowers per clump in the lower part . The bracts are white with a green tint. The flower tube is up to 2.5 inches long. The tips are up to 1.7 inches long.

Sansevieria canaliculata is common in Mozambique in the Cabo Delgado province, in Tanzania and also in the northern part of Madagascar .

It was first described in 1861 by Élie Abel Carrière .
Synonyms for Sansevieria canaliculata Carrière are: Sansevieria schimperi Baker (1898), Sansevieria sulcata Bojer ex Baker (1898), Sansevieria livingstoniae Rendle (1932) and Sansevieria pfennigii Mbugua (2007).
