Günther Molzbichler

Günther Molzbichler (born January 15, 1953 in Spittal an der Drau ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and state employee. He was a member of the Federal Council from 2002 to 2009 .

education and profession

Molzbichler attended elementary school from 1960 to 1964 and then moved to a secondary school until 1968. He then learned the profession of electrician from 1968 to 1972 and attended vocational school at the same time. He then did military service in 1972. Molzbichler worked professionally as an electrician from 1973 to 1987, and since 1987 he has been working as a contract employee at the state of Carinthia in the Spittal an der Drau road construction department.

Politics and functions

Molzbichler worked from 1985 to 1997 as a member of the municipal council of Spittal an der Drau, and was also a long-time deputy city party chairman of the SPÖ and on the district committee of the SPÖ Spittal / Drau. He / he is particularly involved in charitable initiatives and associations in the Spittal district, such as "Die Perle" (project for re-entry into the labor market) or in the Spittal women's refuge.

Molzbichler was chairman of the works council at the Spittal road construction office from 1994 to 2014 and achieved three absolute majority in the employee representative elections. In addition, he was area spokesman for the road construction authorities in Carinthia, deputy chairman of the central staff representation at the office of the Carinthian provincial government, and trade union chairman in the public construction service in Carinthia. In addition, he was elected chamber councilor in the Carinthian Chamber of Labor.

Molzbichler worked within the FSG as chairman of the Federal Representation for Public Construction Services, Section 24. He was a member of the Federal Council from December 20, 2002 to March 30, 2009.
