Günther Stingl

Günther Stingl (born December 4, 1939 ) is an Austrian writer from St. Pölten .

Stingl is a member of the Working Group of Austrian Scriptwriters, the Vienna Screenplay Forum, IG Authors, the St. Pölten Literary Society, the Austrian Dramatists Association, the Austrian PEN Club, the Austrian Writers' Association and the "Podium - Literature Circle Schloss Neulengbach".

The author's works have so far been translated into the following languages: Polish, Czech, Slovak, Russian, Bulgarian, Albanian, Swedish, French and American.

Radio plays, short stories and prose were broadcast by the Austrian radio (ORF), the Italian radio (RAI), the Czech radio, the Berlin radio, the Bavarian radio (BR) and the North German radio (NDR).

Plays have been staged in Austria and Bulgaria (Gallery Theater Sofia).

The printed works have been published by Harp, Heiligenstadt (FRG), in the Lower Austrian Press House, by roetzer edition and by publishers in St. Petersburg and Sofia.

  • 2003 Commemorative Medal of the Province of Lower Austria
