The channel Games Television (G-TV) was a German-speaking and in Germany approved 24-hour special interest broadcaster with the focus on electronic PC and computer games . In its program, G-TV reported on innovations in the field of computer entertainment. The reporting was based on all common game systems and the PC. The broadcaster presented news, magazines and reports as well as areas of “ e-sports ” in thematically coordinated formats .

history

Games Television was part of the Contento digital bouquet and received its broadcasting license on March 25, 2004 from the State Office for Communication (LfK), Stuttgart. The approval period was 8 years, i. H. from April 1, 2004 to March 31, 2012. Originally the name of the station was "Powerplay", but never broadcast under it - despite the approval under this title.

From September 24, 2004 (at the start of broadcasting) the channel was broadcast in the Kabel Digital HOME digital program package from Kabel Deutschland GmbH. The sender claim was: Games Television - Entergaming.

On the official homepage of G-TV it was said: "The ESL in its function as organizer of e-sports events is by far the largest online league for computer gamers in Europe with almost 400,000 registered players.
