The GEWOBA Nord eG cooperative is a housing cooperative, headquartered in Schleswig ( Schleswig-Holstein ) and was established in 1949. history

The founding of GEWOBA Nord in 1949 was due to the strong influx of refugees who also reached Schleswig-Holstein after the end of the war. A community of z. With the expansion, regional offices were also created in order to be able to better serve the members and tenants on site. At the same time, various subsidiaries and grandchildren operated with specialized service offerings such as in the areas of energy management and maintenance.

In 2014 the subsidiaries and grandchildren merged under the umbrella of BUD Bau- unddienstleistungen GmbH. In addition, PROWO West exists as a subsidiary of BUD.

GEWOBA Nord is divided into three organs: the board of directors, the supervisory board and the meeting of representatives. The board consists of the full-time board members Dietmar Jonscher and Steffan Liebscher. The supervisory board, as the controlling body of the management board, consists of 8 members, the chairman is Kay Abeling. The Supervisory Board is elected by the Representative Assembly, which currently has 105 representatives (as of 2019).

In addition to its headquarters in Schleswig, the company has other customer centers in Flensburg, Husum, Niebüll, Westerland / Sylt and Wyk auf Föhr.

Due to its cooperative orientation, GEWOBA Nord does not operate profit-maximized, but invests a large part of the profits in maintenance, modernization and expansion of its portfolio.

Savings facility

In 2011, GEWOBA Nord expanded its range of services to include a savings facility. This is a savings principle developed in the 19th century that is traditionally used by housing cooperatives and i. d. As a rule, an above-average return on savings deposits is guaranteed. At GEWOBA Nord, members can choose between four savings products. The special feature: All savings deposits are secured by the real estate values ​​of the cooperative and the GdW security fund.

GEWOBA Nord has been investing in progressive, energy-saving and therefore environmentally friendly construction projects for many years.
