First broadcast May 1, 2000 on NBC Europe

GIGA Heartbeat , also just called Heartbeat , was a German-language television program produced in Germany on the topics of romance, dating, love and sexuality. The program was broadcast on NBC Europe's program space in the cable networks and via satellite. Heartbeat began broadcasting on Monday, May 1st, 2000. The broadcast was produced by NBC Europe in the GIGA studios in Tiedthof in Hanover. The daily broadcast time was 10:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. The entertainment show about love and togetherness was moderated by GIGA moderators Kerstin Linnartz and Steffen Pahl. The 100th broadcast was committed on September 15, 2000.

content

The main content of the program was, among other things, the interactivity, so viewers could tell romantic stories to the Internet community of the station. In addition, the show was a contact point for young people and their leisure time activities, it gave advice on finding a partner and on the subject of love and offered a platform for Internet surfers to get to know others via web forum, e-mail and chat. The program also told Lovestories about happy couples who found each other over the Internet. The show also featured prominent guests more often, who also provided the viewers with advice and assistance.

history

The program emerged from the program GIGA Romance, which was also received at NBC Europe at the time. The DFA founder and then managing director Helmut Keizer is considered to be the originator of the idea . At the beginning, from May 1, 2000, the program was always broadcast from 10:00 p.m., but was moved back an hour a short time later, so the daily start of broadcasting was postponed to 11:00 p.m. The time slot was then changed again, as a program also broadcast on NBC Europe, namely GIGA Games, was moved to the time slot at 10:00 p.m. for reasons of youth protection law. From now on, GIGA Heartbeat had its set transmission start at midnight. It was broadcast until 1:00 a.m. As part of a program reform and due to the very late broadcasting slot at the end, the program was last broadcast on June 30, 2001 and then discontinued.

Areas

Similar to the afternoon program GIGA on NBC Europe, so-called channels were introduced shortly after the broadcast started. Since the show got to the bottom of the community's questions and concerns, the following areas were incorporated into Heartbeat.

  • Lives , the channel for lifestyle. Here, for example, the life stories and love stories of the community members were presented. The Lives section was moderated by Deborah Abeßer and Luise Tophoff.
  • SOS , here the audience could raise very urgent love problems and ask for help. This area was designed by Florian Müller, Jumana el Husseini, Sven Distel and Jule Gölsdorf.
  • Contacts , in this area contacts were combined similar to the "Dates with Fun" website . The network reporters in this area were Frauke Schlieckau, Christine Langner and Steffen Pahl.
  • TV Show , the channel TV show moderated and supervised by Kerstin Linnartz , Jumana el Husseini and Steffen Pahl, contained interesting stories from the team and presented exciting opinions and topics from the station's editorial offices.
