GJ 1001 , also known as LHS 102 , is a red dwarf located about 30 to 50 light years from Earth in the constellation Phoenix . At an angular distance of 18 ", 236 ± 0", 002 the star is accompanied by a close double system consisting of two L-dwarfs, which may be brown dwarfs . These carry the systematic names LHS 102 B and LHS 102 C .
