The GPE Palmtop Environment ( GPE ) is a free GUI environment for PDAs under a GNU / Linux - operating system running.

GPE uses the X Window System and GTK + . The devices currently supported include the Compaq iPAQ and the Sharp Zaurus .

GPE is not a single piece of software, but a complete desktop environment, composed of components, which enables a GNU / Linux PDA to be used for standard tasks in the field of personal information management (PIM).
