GTUBE (of . English : G ENERIC T est for U nsolicited B ulk e mail ) is a 68-character test string , which the review of anti- spam is used solutions, especially by those who in the filter - program SpamAssassin based.

Details

A so-called anti-spam value of 1000 is entered with the standard settings within SpamAssassin . This anti-spam score is a measure by which an anti-spam solution assesses a single email for characteristics of spam. The higher this value, the more likely it is that an email is spam (or a spam filter test).

The content of the test string is:

XJS*C4JDBQADN1.NSBN3*2IDNEN*GTUBE-STANDARD-ANTI-UBE-TEST-EMAIL*C.34X

This should be inserted as text in a test email, without spaces or line breaks.

If your spam filter supports it, the GTUBE provides a test by which you
can verify that the filter is installed correctly and is detecting incoming
spam. You can send yourself a test mail containing the following string of
characters (in upper case and with no white spaces and line breaks):

XJS*C4JDBQADN1.NSBN3*2IDNEN*GTUBE-STANDARD-ANTI-UBE-TEST-EMAIL*C.34X

You should send this test mail from an account outside of your network.

Similar to the GTUBE string, the EICAR test file is used for anti- virus solutions .
