GZ Media is the world's largest remaining record producer based in Okres Beroun , Czech Republic . The press shop has a capacity of up to 20 million vinyl records per year. Optical media have also been manufactured since 1988.

history

In 1951, Gramofonové závody Loděnice began producing records in the building of the former cotton mill Loděnice , and shortly afterwards the first magnetic tapes were made in the factory in Czechoslovakia. In 1988 the Gramofonové závody Loděnice produced the first CDs in Czechoslovakia. After the political change, the Gramofonové závody Loděnice became the company GZ Digital Media as, which was the largest employer in the Beroun region with 1,400 employees and achieved an annual production of six million vinyl.

In the 1990s, CD production reached its lowest point with 400,000 records per year. Since then, production has increased again. After 25 million records were made in 2015, the Czechs want to open a factory in Canada and acquire shares in a stamping plant in the United States.
