Gabon Airlines was a Gabonese airline based in Libreville and a hub at Libreville Leon M'ba Airport .

history

The airline was owned by private investors, banks and insurance companies. On November 8, 2006, the Gabonese ministry granted official approval to operate scheduled flights in the country, and on April 11, 2007, the airline started its first flight from Libreville to Paris . Ethiopian Airlines took over the personnel management and carried out the maintenance of the aircraft. The airline ceased operations in 2011 after the European Union put it on the list of operating bans for the European Union's airspace . The Ministry of Aviation then withdrew the operating license.

Further use of the name

In 2015 it was announced that Gabon Airlines would be resurrected as Tropical Air Gabon , and the new airline received approval at the end of May 2015.
