Gabriel Hässi (Landammann)

Gabriel Hässi was a Catholic Landammann of Glarus from 1560 until his death in 1565. During his term of office the conclusion of the Glarus trade falls with the 2nd Glarus State Treaty , which established religious equality (parity) between Catholics and the Reformed majority and in the Landvogeien Gaster and Uznach laid down the Catholic faith. Gabriel Hässi was the son of councilor and governor Konrad Hässi and brother of Melchior Hässi . He was married to Maria Bäldi, daughter of Joachim Bäldi , a captain in the French service.
