Gabriele Allram ( August 24, 1824 in Prague - August 7, 1884 in Dresden ) was a German theater actress and singer .

Life

The daughter of the actor Josef Allram developed into a significant talent under the education of her mother Babette Allram . She made her debut in 1837 as “Suschen” in “ The Bridegroom from Mexico ” at the Prague State Theater , where she particularly excelled in the naive subject. Since she had a pretty voice, she tried the transition to opera in 1840 by appearing as "Rosina" in " The Barber of Seville ". She liked it, but it was unanimously agreed that she did better as an actress. After she had worked in Prague for some time, she accepted a call to the court theater in Dresden in 1842, where she preferably took on the roles of the retiring Doris Devrient . She worked there until her retirement in June 1877. She died on August 7, 1884.
