Gabriele Gillessen-Kaesbach

Gabriele Gertrud Gillessen-Kaesbach , b. Gillessen, (born October 16, 1953 in Heinsberg ) is a German human geneticist .

Life

From 1972 to 1974 she studied human medicine at the Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg , from 1975 to 1976 chemistry at the Ruhr University in Bochum and from 1976 to 1980 human medicine at the University of Essen . After approval in 1980 and doctorate in 1982 ( Studies on the determination of free cortisol in serum was) in 1986 Specialist for Pediatrics . In 1988 she became a research assistant at the Institute for Human Genetics, Essen University Hospital . In 1995 she became a specialist in human genetics. After her habilitation in 1997 ( The Prader-Willi Syndrome. A Clinical Genetic Analysis ), she taught from 2006 to 2017 as head of the Institute for Human Genetics in Lübeck . From 2010 to 2013 she was Vice President for Research at the University of Lübeck . She has been President of the University of Lübeck since 2018.
