Gabriele Graziani (born April 10, 1975 in Turin ) is a former Italian football player and current coach .

Player career

Gabriele Graziani started playing football in the youth of Turin FC . In 1993 he moved to the first team. But did not get a chance there. He was then sold to the SS Nola in the C1 league in November 1994 . There he made his debut in professional football. After 16 games and one goal, he moved to Hertha BSC in Germany in the summer of 1995 . In the 2nd Bundesliga , however, he did not make a breakthrough under Karsten Heine or his successor Jürgen Röber , so Graziani returned to Italy after only nine missions, eight of them as a substitute . In Serie C1 he played 17 games for the SS Arezzo until he was loaned to the US Pistoiese in January 1997 . After the loan ended, Graziani moved to AC Siena in the summer of 1997 . In April 1998 he returned prematurely to Arezzo to celebrate the promotion to the C1 series with his companions, where he still made six missions there. After he could not conquer a regular place at Arezzo at the beginning of the 1998/99 season (5 games, no goals), he went to AC Mestre in the series C2 in November 1998 . There Graziani played 21 games and scored 7 league goals.

In February 2000 Gabriele Graziani moved to Mantova Calcio . There he should experience the most successful time of his career. From February to June 2000 he scored 5 goals in 10 games. In the following season, Graziani surpassed the mark of 10 goals in one season for the first time in his career and scored 11 goals in 31 games. In the 2001/02 season he met nine times in 30 games. The following year went even better, with the player scoring 16 goals in 30 games. In the years 2003 to 2004 Graziani broke the record of the previous year (17 goals in 30 appearances) and played such a big part in it that the team made it to Serie C1. After only one season in the third professional league, Mantua made it through to the second-rate Serie B. The player scored 9 goals in 31 games. The same number of goals he managed in the 2005/06 season, in which the Mantovans narrowly missed promotion to Serie A. In the 2006/07 season he scored a goal in 17 missions.

In summer 2007 Graziani moved to the US Cremonese after seven seasons in the Mantova jersey . In the 2007/08 season he played 28 games and scored 12 goals. In summer 2009 he went to FC Bassano 1903 and after only half a year to AC Sambonifacese . He returned to Mantua the following summer. He scored on matchday one and helped win Serie D during the season. For the 2012/2013 season he finally moved to the AC Castellana Calcio team , where he ended his playing career at the end of the season.

Coaching career

After the end of his playing career in 2013, Gabriele Graziani became head of the youth sector in Mantua . On October 27, 2015, he became Ivan Javorčić's assistant coach on the club's bench. On November 30, 2016, he became Mantova's new head coach. At the end of the season, however, the club had to file for bankruptcy and start over in the amateur field.

On September 18, 2017, Gabriele Graziani became a trainer at Calcio Correggese. On November 9, 2018, Graziani signed a contract with the US Governolese.
