Gabriele Schmidt (* 2. July 1956 as Gabriele Isele in Grafenhausen ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Waldshut , she began training as an industrial clerk in 1975 and then worked in this profession in medium-sized companies. Most recently she was sales manager at a medium-sized company in Horheim until she moved into the German Bundestag.

Schmidt is the mother of two daughters and is widowed.

politics

In 1974 she joined the CDU and in 1976 the Christian Democratic workforce . Since 2008 she has been chairwoman of the CDU community association in Ühlingen-Birkendorf. Since 1992 she has been treasurer of the CDA district association in South Baden. Since 2010 she has been the deputy district chairwoman of the CDU district association Waldshut and deputy district chairwoman of the CDA. She is also the chairwoman of the CDA district association in Waldshut.

On September 22, 2013 Schmidt was in federal elections in 2013 on the 13th CDU regional list Baden-Wuerttemberg in the German Bundestag elected. There she represents the constituency of Waldshut in the 18th legislative period. From March 2017, Schmidt was Deputy Chair of the Labor and Social Committee. She is no longer a member of the Bundestag elected in 2017.
