Gadschi Magomedowitsch Umarow ( Russian Гаджи Магомедович Умаров ; born May 6, 1985 in Buinaksk , Dagestani ASSR ) is a Russian Taekwondoin . It starts in the weight class up to 87 kilograms.

Umarow already took part in World Cup events in 2002, but he could not qualify for international title fights within the Russian team in the following years. Umarow was only able to record his first major success in July 2011. At the international Olympic qualification tournament in Baku he reached the final in the weight class over 80 kilograms and qualified for the Olympic Games in London . The following year he played his first European Championship in Manchester , where he made it to the quarterfinals, but was eliminated there by Ali Sari .
