Gaetano Ianni

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gaetano Ianni (born July 1, 1948 in Gela , Italy) built a 'branch' of the criminal organization Stidda , together with others, in Gela, Sicily, from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s , which fought a bitter gang war with the The mafia organization Cosa Nostra established there delivered. This war is said to have claimed around 500 deaths. During this time he also introduced his sons Simon and Marco into the organization. The biography of his then wife Edith, whom he married in Lüneburg in 1968, is somewhat glorified.

At the end of 1992, Gaetano Ianni was arrested and decided to join the Italian leniency program. He was able to convince his sons to do the same. The statements made during this time resulted in a series of lawsuits against other Stidda executives. After completing the leniency program, he returned to Lüneburg and runs two Italian restaurants there. To the Italian authorities he has apparently disappeared without a trace.
