The Galen anastomosis (also: Galen's anastomosis, Ansa Galeni or Ramus communicans nervi laryngealis superioris cum nervo laryngeali recurrenti ) is a nerve anastomosis consisting of the nerves superior laryngeal nerve and the recurrent laryngeal nerve . Both branches originate from the vagus nerve and meet at the level of the larynx inside the larynx.
