Gambart is an impact crater on the western front of the moon in the plane of the Sinus Aestuum , southeast of Copernicus . The rim of the crater is somewhat irregular, the interior of the crater is flooded with lava.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the French astronomer Jean-Félix Adolphe Gambart .
