γ Corvi (Gamma Corvi) is a star of the spectral type B8 at a distance of about 165 light years . With an apparent magnitude of 2.6 mag, it is the brightest star in the constellation Corvus .
The star has the proper name Gienah Gurab (from Arabic جناح الغراب, DMG ǧanāḥ al-ġurāb 'wing of the raven') or just Gienah , sometimes added to Gienah Corvi to distinguish it from the star of the same name in the constellation Cygnus with the designation ε Cygni .
