The Gandhi Ashram School is located in Kalimpong in the mountains of Darjeeling in India . It was founded by the Jesuit Father Ed McGuire for children whose families have no money for education. The focus of the school is on musical training. The pupils learn a string instrument from the first grade , individual pupils of the school perform on concert tours in Europe together with local musicians. The school has its own violin making workshop.
