Gaomiao

Gaomiao ( Chinese  高庙 遗址 , Pinyin Gāomiào yízhǐ ) is a Neolithic site in Hongjiang in the Chinese province of Hunan . The site was excavated in 2005. This is where the earliest white pottery was discovered.

The heyday of the Gaomiao culture (高庙 文化 Gaomiao Wenhua) was 7400 to 7100 years ago.

The Gaomiao site has been on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-165) since 2006 .
