Baskuy

Baskuy is one of five arrondissements into which Ouagadougou , the capital of the West African state of Burkina Faso , is divided.

The arrondissement was founded on November 2nd, 1988, the first local elections took place in 1995. The Baskuys area extends over the inner-city area with twelve sectors. The population is 195,793 (2006 census).

Casimir Ilboudo has been the mayor since 1997.
