Gareth John Williams (born December 19, 1979 in Bridgend ) is a Welsh rugby union player . He plays as a Hakler for the Cardiff Blues and has so far played for the Welsh national team seven times .
Williams joined the newly formed Blues in 2003, having previously played for the University of Wales rugby division called UWIC RFC , the Pontypridd RFC and the Sydney- based Gordon RFC . He already gained experience in the country's youth national teams and was, among other things, captain of the U18 team. He played his first game for the men's national team at the 2003 Six Nations against Italy . In the same year he played four more times for Wales. It was only in 2009 that he came to further national team assignments.
