Garrel Mill House

Garrel Mill House is the residential building belonging to Garrel Mill in the Scottish town of Kilsyth in North Lanarkshire . It is located on the northeast edge of the city on Tak-Ma-Doon Road . In 1979 the building was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in Category B.

The exact construction date of the house is not recorded, so that only the late 17th century can be given as the construction period. The elongated building runs right along the street. It consists of two units with separate entrance doors along the front as well as a cottage and a carriage house . One of the entrance doors has an ornate lintel. The facade of the two-story house is plastered with Harl in the traditional Southwest Scottish style . It ends with a gable roof . Remise and Cottage, however, have pent roofs . A cube-shaped sundial is set up at the south end .
