Gazebo waltz
Gartenlaube-Waltz is a waltz by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 461). The work was premiered on January 6, 1895 in the concert hall of the Wiener Musikverein under the direction of the composer. It was dedicated to the readers of the German magazine Die Gartenlaube . In addition, the waltz was published as a printed supplement in this magazine.
Remarks
At the premiere, prominent musicians such as B. Karl Goldmark , Johannes Brahms and Richard Heuberger are present. The waltz was very well received and also played a few weeks later in England with great success. It was also performed on May 30, 1895 at a concert at Buckingham Palace in the presence of Queen Victoria . The conductor of the performances in England was Eduard Strauss , the composer's brother. The playing time is about 12 minutes, depending on the musical opinion of the conductor.
