Gary Lautenschlager (born November 17, 1983 in Munich ) is a former German American football player . He last played for the Nürnberg Rams on the position of quarterback .

Lautenschlager grew up in Munich as the son of former football professional Martin Lautenschlager . From the beginning of his career he played for the Munich Cowboys. From 1997 to 2002 he went through all youth teams there and was nominated for the Bavarian youth selection in 2001. In 2001 and 2002 he was Bavarian Youth Champion and in 2002 Vice-European Champion (European Junior Championships 2002, Glasgow ).

In the men's division, he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2003 with the Munich Cowboys and in 2004 to the 1st Bundesliga. There they were relegated in 2005. In 2006 the team with Lautenschlager was relegated and rose again a year later. In 2008 they made it to the quarter-finals. In 2009 they only secured relegation in the relegation round. In the 2010/2011 season, the Munich Cowboys failed in the quarter-finals of the GFL against the eventual runner-up Kiel Baltic Hurricanes . For the 2012 season, Lautenschlager moved to Noris for the traditional Nuremberg Rams club, where he played in the 2nd Bundesliga. At the end of the season he ended his career.

In 2010 Lautenschlager was appointed to the extended national team for the first time despite a fracture injury. The first use followed in March 2010 in a friendly against Italy. There he was voted Most Valuable Player (MVP). He was then appointed to the national team for the American Football World Cup 2011 in Austria. The German team finished the World Cup with a 21:14 win against France and thus finished 5th as the best European team.
