Gary R. Renard

Gary R. Renard (born March 6, 1951 in Salem , Massachusetts ) is an American author who initially worked as a guitar player.

In the 1990s he moved to Poland Spring , Maine , where he claimed to be "spiritually awakened". Since then he has been working as an author and speaker. He describes himself as a "spiritual teacher". On December 21, 1992, two beings allegedly appeared to him who are said to have dictated "The Illusion of the Universe" and later the book "Immortal" to him within nine years.

The book The Illusion of the Universe is an introduction and interpretation of A Course in Miracles (EKiW). One year after its first publication in 2003 by the small publisher Fearless Books , the title was published in October 2004 by an international specialist publisher for spiritual literature. The book was published simultaneously in Canada, England, South Africa and Australia. The 7th edition followed a year later, and the German translation appeared in March 2006.

criticism

Since the summer of 2006, the EKiW congregation in the United States has had serious doubts about Renard's claims. In particular, his portrayal that the meetings with "ascended masters" from the future actually, physically and repeatedly took place is questioned. Renard could not dispel these doubts, although he claims in The Illusion of the Universe to have recorded these trysts acoustically. Furthermore, Robert Perry, also a book author and EKiW teacher, accused him of plagiarism because Renard was using the teaching version of Kenneth Wapnick without confessing to it.
