Gary Warren

Gary Warren (born July 5, 1954 in London , England ) is a British former actor .

Gary Warren was in front of the camera for over a dozen film and television productions between 1966 and 1977. He first played guest roles in television series and had a small appearance in the Jerry Lewis comedy The Spinner (1968). In 1969 he played in the musical Mame alongside Ginger Rogers in the West End of London . He became known to a wide audience in Great Britain in 1970 on the side of Bernard Cribbins in the cinema comedy The Railway Children , based on the children's classic of the same name by Edith Nesbit . In German-speaking countries he is possibly better known for the series Catweazle , in the second season of which he played the aristocratic youth Cedric "Eulengesicht" Collingford in 1971 . He was then seen as a know-it-all teenager in the short-lived sitcom Alexander the Greatest , then the role offers for him decreased noticeably.

As a young adult, Warren retired from acting and moved to Oxfordshire . He is the father of two children. For a long time the public didn't know what happened to Warren until the author Jim Shipley tracked him down again in 2012 for his book about the movie The Railway Children .
