The Garzer See is a lake on the island of Rügen , district of Vorpommern-Rügen , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The water is partly in the urban area of Garz / Rügen in the north and in the municipality of Poseritz in the south. At the northern, swampy end of the lake is the Garz / Rügen castle wall . The elongated shallow lake has several small tributaries in the north and an outflow at the south end. The lake is about one kilometer long and up to 240 meters wide. The area surrounding the water is mainly used for agriculture. With Renz and Wendorf there are two other small settlements nearby.
